The S: drive is part of the central windows file store and enables groups of users to access and share files necessary for their work. My computer recognizes that the s drive exists, but whenever I try to access it, I get an error message saying, The disk cannot be found. In this article, we try to access the S drive without error.
How to Access the S Drive on Computer?
Need to access the S: Drive? Select your system from the list below to find instructions.
On a PC
- Open the File Explorer and then select This PC.

- Select the Computer tab and then click the Map network drive.

- In the Drive field, select the S: drive and then add the server name: \ds.icncomputer.com\dfs\Shared.
- To connect every time you log on to your computer, select the Reconnect at sign-in check box.

- Click Finish. A login window will appear to enter your username and password.
- Tick Remember my credentials to reconnect to the folder every time
- Click OK.
On a Mac
- Click the Finder icon (shown right) on the Dock.
- In the upper left corner, select Go and Connect to Server.
- Type in the path of the desired network drive.
- To add the S: drive: ds.icncomputer.com/dfs/Shared
- Click the plus (+) sign to add the desired server and save it in the list of Favorite Servers.
- Click Connect.
- Select Registered User and enter your credentials.
- After logging into the server ds.icncomputer.com, a window will open that displays the S: drive. The drive can also be found in the Finder and on the desktop.
