HP Image Assistant (HPIA) is a Windows image comparison tool that captures metadata configuration files from images, compares image configuration files, and provides recommendations to help you develop, maintain, and support images for an optimal Windows performance.
It is an important tool that provides assistance to IT System Administrators to improve the quality and security of their HP PCs running Microsoft Windows by analyzing, identifying problems, and recommending solutions.
Download HP Image Assistant
METHOD 1
Step 1: Click on the download option of HP Image Assistant (HPIA)
Step 2: Extract “hp-hpia exe” file through WinZip, WinRAR etc.
Step 3: Double click on the hp-hpia exe file.
Step 4: Tap on the next option for continue install.
Step 5: Select “I accept all the terms and conditions in the license agreement” and click on “Next” option.
Step 6: Save the following file in a folder and if there is no folder it will be automatically created for you.
Step 7: To continue, Tap on the next option.
Step 8: Wait for the SoftPaq so that it will install HP Image assistant and it will take few moments.
Step 9: After installation you can open it.
Step 10: Now you can enjoy working with HP Image Assistant.
METHOD 2
Step 1: Open HP Image Assistant (HPIA).
Step 2: In the SoftPaq Exe column, click the most recent file.
Step 3: Click Open, Save, or Run in any windows that display to download the utility to your computer.
Step 4: Double-click the HPIA setup file in the browser downloads bar or in the Downloads folder on the computer to launch the installation.
Step 5: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the utility.

How do I use HP Image Assistant?
Capturing and saving a system image:
- In File Explorer, navigate to open HPImageAssistant.exe.
- Click Languages, and select your language Hindi/English/Other.
- Click Tools, and select a configuration type.
- Capture Target Image Configuration captures the system image of the PC you are using. Navigate to the desired location, and then save the file.
- Proxy Configuration allows you to create and save a proxy system image. Continue with these steps.
- In the URL area, type the address and port for the proxy configuration in the appropriate fields.
- Type the username, password, and domain for the proxy configuration.
- Click on Save option.
Analyzing system image health and security:
- In File Explorer, navigate to open HPImageAssistant.exe.
- Click Languages, and select your language Hindi/English/Other.
- Click the Analyze image tab.
- In the Choose Target Image drop-down menu, select the PC you are using or browse to a saved system image.
- In the Choose Reference Image drop-down menu, select the PC you are using, browse to a saved system image, or choose to use a reference system image from HP.
- Click on Analyze option.
- Click File to save or export the recommendations.
Analyzing migration readiness:
- In File Explorer, navigate to open HPImageAssistant.exe.
- Click Languages, and select your language Hindi/English/Other.
- Click on the Migrate OS tab.
- In the Choose System, select the PC you are using or browse to a saved system image.
- Select the operating system and partition that the PC is to be migrated to in the Choose OS & Partition.
- Select the WinPE operating system that the PC is to be migrated to in the Choose WinPE OS drop-down menu.
- Select the TPM version that the PC is to be migrated to in the Choose TPM Version drop-down menu.
- Click Analyze.HP Image Assistant analyzes system readiness for migration and displays a summary and recommendations.
- To download recommended items, select the desired items, and then click Download.
- Click on the download and after few moments it will be downloaded.

Step 1: Navigate and open HP Image Assistant.
Step 2: Select languages you want to use the app.
Step 3: Click on the “Create new product list” select the “create” option.
Step 4: It will open “Edit my product list”.
Step 5: Click on the “Select Operating System” it will open operating system.
Step 6: Select the HP product catalog menu and search with the name or number of the product.
Step 7: Tap on the “Apply” and select your product or products.
Step 8: Get SoftPaq and click analyze option wait for a while when HPIA retrieves or download the image from HP.
Step 9: The “Available Softpaq” available in tab lists for selected computers.
Step 10: Drop-down menu for “Select Components Download/Apply” and select the components you want to download.
Step 11: Click on the “Pen icon“ and click on the “OK”.
Step 12: Tap on the spreadsheet icon and save the file by clicking on the “Save” option.
Step 13: Download the selecting components and save.
Step 14: Choose the “Download SoftPaq” or “Download and Extract SoftPaq”.
Step 15: Click on the “Start” option.
