Posted on July 7, 2022

Cortana collects data about you, yet it fails to detect most of what we put in place to find it. This virtual assistant is virtually useless and is sucking up system resources on top of it. Disabling Cortana will help us gain a little privacy by keeping everything we do on our personal computers from being sent back to Microsoft so we’ll go over how to disable Cortana here.

What is cortana?

Cortana is a virtual assistant developed by Microsoft that uses the Bing search engine to perform tasks such as setting reminders and answering questions for the user. Depends on the Cortana software on the platform. Cortana is Microsoft’s personal productivity assistant that helps you save time and focus on what matters most. Cortana manages the calendar for you and keeps your schedule up to date, when to join a meeting in Microsoft Teams, or schedule your next meeting. Simultaneously creates and manages lists.
